Cape Banks FHS Inc is conducting an open day on Saturday 9 August 2008 at our Research Rooms for those who have just started, or are thinking about starting, on this most wonderful journey into family history. Browse our extensive resources on cd-rom, microfilm, microfiche and printed copy. Our experienced researchers will be on hand to answer your questions. The rooms will be open from 12:00pm to 4:00pm


Pioneer Memorial Park

On Friday 8th August 2008, Cape Banks FHS Inc. will have, as its guest speakers, Tony Brown, Manager Site Operations & John Vogel, Manager Customer Service, talking to our members about "Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park".



The book lists 608 pioneer entries from 284 submitters. It covers the suburbs of Daceyville, Kingsford (south of Gardeners Road), Matraville, Malabar, Little Bay, La Perouse. The book also contains a brief history of the development of these suburbs and street name changes.

Maroubra & District Memories

Following the successful publication of Maroubra & District Pioneer Register – Pre 1945, Cape Banks Family History Society invites contributions for their next family history project, Maroubra & District Memories.

Maroubra & District Memories will be a book of personal memories, recollections and photographs describing everyday life in the district up to 1945. Areas covered will include Daceyville, Kingsford (south of Gardeners Road), Maroubra, Matraville, Malabar, Little Bay and La Perouse.




Why?

    We aim to assist local residents in tracing their family trees and in discovering who their ancestors were and where they lived, worked and played.
Where?
    We cater for people who are researching their ancestors both here in Australia and overseas.

Through our meetings, workshops, guest speakers, and the wide range of resources and records at our well equipped Resource Library, which includes:
