Botany Cemetery Pioneer Memorial Park

In early 1986 Cape Banks Family History Society Inc. began transcribing Botany Cemetery Pioneer Memorial Park and was published in 1987. This was followed by Botany Cemetery Church of England sections in 1988, Botany Cemetery Roman Catholic sections in 1990, Botany Cemetery Congregational/Presbyterian/Methodist/ Children/Jewish sections in 1991 and Botany Cemetery General sections in 1995.

These publications have become a valuable resource for family historians, as a number of the older headstones have deteriorated, or been damaged to such an extent, that they are almost unreadable.

In 2009 a proposal was put forward to the society's committee, and subsequently approved, to scan all of the society's publications, so as to preserve them for future use.

This process took approximately 6 months. All scans were done from the original printed copy and at a resolution of 300dpi. These pages were saved in the JPG image file format.

The scanned pages were then combined into PDF files as shown in the Contents page. The Alphabetical Listing is further broken down into each letter of the alphabet to keep the file size as small as possible.
